Meet the Women Leading the Way at The Dean

Every year on March 8th, we join millions around the world to celebrate International Women’s Day—a day to honour the achievements of women and to push forward on the path to equality. This year’s theme, Accelerate Action, calls on all of us to quicken the pace of progress and support the incredible contributions women make in every industry, every community, and every corner of the world.

At The Dean, women are at the heart of everything we do. Across all our locations, from Cork to Dublin to Galway, we’re proud to work alongside talented, dedicated, and inspiring women who drive our success every day. While we want to recognize and celebrate all the incredible women in our team, today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to three exceptional women from across our group who embody the spirit of Accelerate Action.

Meet the Women Leading the Way at The Dean

Eimear Devane, The Dean Cork

Since joining The Dean Cork in October 2021 as Deputy General Manager, Eimear has been a driving force behind the hotel’s growth and success. Her favorite part of the job? “Hard to pick one! Watching people grow and progress into new roles within the hotel. Enhancing the guest experience year on year by doing the unexpected,” she shares. Eimear also loves the creative and unconventional side of hospitality at The Dean. For Eimear, small actions make a big difference: “I always make my way around the hotel when I come onsite to say hello and see how everyone’s day is going because I’m genuinely invested in the team.” Moments of impact for her include seeing team members progress in their careers and witnessing guests’ faces light up as they enter the lobby with a “wooow” reaction. Her advice to women starting out in hospitality is straightforward and powerful: “Do consistently good work.” A reminder that steady effort leads to great things!

Naira Martínez, The Dean Dublin

Naira has been a welcoming face at the reception desk at The Dean Dublin since June 2021. For her, the best part of the job is “definitely connecting with the guests!” She loves creating those little moments that make a big impact—whether it’s a friendly chat at check-in or going the extra mile to make a stay unforgettable.

What truly makes a difference for Naira day-to-day is her team: “Knowing that the people you work with have your back, no matter what’s going on, makes all the difference!” Even on challenging days, the support of her colleagues helps keep her motivated and positive.

Naira’s advice for women starting out in hospitality is inspiring and heartfelt: “Never underestimate the power of kindness and a positive attitude! Hospitality is all about creating connections and making people feel welcome. Even on tough days, staying positive and showing empathy can make a huge difference. Be confident, trust in yourself, and always keep learning—it’s such a rewarding career when you embrace it with passion and heart.”

Rebecca Mannion, The Dean Galway

Since joining The Dean Galway in November 2021, Rebecca has been a key part of the Food and Beverage Department. For her, the best part of the job is—without a doubt—the people. “As cliché as it sounds, I’ve made friends and colleagues here who will always be a part of my life. It’s the incredible team and community that have truly shaped this hotel into what it is today,” she shares.Rebecca believes that positivity and preparation make a big difference in day-to-day work. “Maintaining a positive mindset, especially during hectic shifts, can make a world of difference. It’s about focusing on solutions rather than problems and being open to change,” she explains.Looking back at her journey, Rebecca reflects on her growth and passion for hospitality: “I never thought I’d be able to thrive in this industry, but the support of the amazing team around me has made all the difference.” Her advice to women starting out in hospitality is simple but powerful: “We all make mistakes—just own them. If it’s something you care about, keep pushing forward. Every day is different, and the people you meet along the way will make all the challenges worth it.”
