Corkonians (i.e., Cork people) believe that Cork is the centre of the universe and the REAL capital of Ireland. It is a place known for having its own unique way of speaking, habits, and sense of humour. Over its 1500-year history, Cork has emerged as a county full of quirky and intriguing characters that are richly celebrated through Hysterical Histories.
Who We Are
Led by Angela Newman (a well-known, established Irish actress whose family has worked in music, arts, and theatre for more than five generations), this unforgettable theatrical performance was crafted with friends and fellow actors, Marie O’Donovan and Darragh Keating.  Born out of a shared love for the arts, food, history, and all things Cork, multiple highlights include:

Hysterical Histories Cork – Comedic Dinner Theatre Experience (2hrs)
This must-do, inimitable comedy theatre experience is a high-octane, laugh-out-loud adventure that is unlike anything else in Ireland, or around the world! Written and delivered by established professional Irish actors, this jam-packed performance celebrates all things Cork within one of Cork’s historic buildings. Over two hours, discover the highlights of Cork’s 1500-year history and become acquainted with a county full of quirky characters, their habits, humor, and language. Enjoy local Cork food and drinks, served up with live music and plenty of personality as you engage with the actors. Leave with a belly full of food, a warm feeling in your heart, and a new skill, having learned how to “speak Cork.”

Hysterical Histories Cork – Taste of Cork Lunch (1hr 15 mins)
This inimitable comedy theatre experience is a high-octane, laugh-out-loud adventure that is unlike anything else, anywhere in the world, and it can be organized with love just for you. Delivered by established professional Irish actors, it celebrates all things Cork within one of the city’s historic pubs. Discover the highlights of Cork’s 1500-year history and become acquainted with its quirky characters while enjoying tasting platters of food sourced from the English Market, served up with a pint, live music, and plenty of personalities. Leave with a belly full of food, a warm feeling in your heart, and a new skill, having learned how to “speak Cork” and if you are well-behaved a souvenir.
Where do I buy tickets for Hysterical Histories?
You can buy tickets for Hysterical Histories on their website at www.hystericalhistories.ie.
You can also organize private events/tour groups. Private performances of the Dinner theatre experience and Taste of Cork Lunch can be organized for groups from February – October.
It is also possible to organize for a member of the cast to meet guests on the coach and welcome them, before taking them on a short walk to the venue, telling stories along the way for large groups for a flat fee of 40 euro per coach/group
