Galway Christmas Markets
First things first – the Galway Christmas Markets. From November 8th, Eyre Square gets transformed into a winter wonderland right through until early January. Rivalling the best of European Christmas markets, the now annual fixture in the Galway City calendar is not to be missed. Think rustic chalets selling artisan crafts, sampling from stalls of local producers, traditional carousels, live music, a giant Ferris wheels and, of course, plenty of mulled wine to keep you toasty.
Shop and sip till you drop before returning to your base at The Dean Galway, less than two minutes’ walk from Eyre Square. Need to warm up? Heat up in Power’s cedar wood sauna or take a dip in our heated outdoor pool with a cocktail in hand – divine!
Red Bull Showrun Galway
Oracle Red Bull Racing is coming to Galway’s Salthill on Sunday, November 17 2024. Featuring former Formula One drivers David Coulthard and Patrick Friesacher demonstrating the roaring power, speed, and sound of Sebastian Vettel’s Championship-winning RB7 cars live before thousands of thrilled spectators, this is a must see event for any F1 fans. Make a weekend out of it with a stay at The Dean Galway!
Make for Macnas
Halloween in Galway offers a unique opportunity to witness a thrilling parade from the world-renowned masters of storytelling and pioneers of imagination, Macnas. On Sunday 27th October, Macnas will take to the streets with a mesmerizing display of imagination and artistry.
Cozy Pubs
Escape the chill and step inside one of Galway’s countless pubs this Winter. Roaring fires, creamy pints, and almost always a bit of live music, there’s nowhere better to cozy up during a winter break in Galway City. Here are some of our favourites – Tig Cóilí after a stroll down Shop Street, The Crane Bar for nightly live music, Tigh Neachtain for a dose of local art and culture, and of course our very own Peig’s Bar at The Dean for a cozy night cap.
Break the ice
