Galway Docklands Festival
Galway Docklands Festival
The inaugural Galway Docklands festival is kicking off this Friday 21st October for three days, with a number of activities highlighting the best that the Docklands have to offer and celebrating the waterways of Galway. The festival itself will focus on locations such as the Galway Harbour, the Docks, the Claddagh and the Galway coastline.
There will be a showcase of local Galway seafood, regional beers, music and of course the city’s famous Galway Hooker sailing boats. There will also be plenty of family-friendly activities for the little ones, with sea-themed activities, art contests, crafts and entertainment.
Hop on board a boat for a guided spin through the Claddagh and out Galway Bay and let the teenagers experience driving a motorboat (while supervised). The festival will have something for all ages. Over a coffee morning local speakers will talk about Galway’s maritime heritage and the Galway Hooker Sailing Club will finish the evenings will rigging demonstrations of the Galway Hookers and a Parade of Sail. See Galway Hookers Sailing Club for more info.

All funds raised throughout the festival will be donated to Galway RNLI and LAST (lost at sea tragedies).
