The Cliffs of Moher

Galway is a picturesque bus ride away from Ireland’s mesmerising Cliffs of Moher. The journey takes between 1hr30 to 2hrs and travels through the world famous Burren National Park towards the Atlantic coastline.

The Cliffs of Moher stretch for 8km (5 miles) as the crow flies and reach 214m (702 feet) in height at their highest point. They are a must see for any visit to Ireland and Galway provides a excellent platform for day trips to the Cliffs of Moher. Trips leave daily from the city in the morning and return in the afternoon or evening depending on your selected tour.

Connemara National Park

Connemara National Park covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands in County Galway. Opened to the public in 1980, the National Park includes lands that once formed part of the Kylemore Abbey Estate, one of Ireland’s top tourist attractions.

Kylemore Castle was built in the late 1800s, and is a haven of history, beauty and serenity. Home to a Benedictine order of Nuns for the past 100 years, Kylemore Abbey welcomes visitors from all over the world each year to embrace the magic of the magnificent 1,000-acre estate.

Expressway route 51 has daily bus routes from Shannon Airport to Galway Station which takes under 2 hours and a single ticket costs €10. It is also possible to hire a car once you arrive at Shannon Airport and driving from Shannon Airport to The Dean Galway will take just 1 hour. 

Dublin Airport

Citylink offers daily bus routes from Dublin Airport to Galway Station which takes under 3 hours and a single ticket costs €18. It is also possible to hire a car once you arrive at Dublin Airport and driving to The Dean Galway from Dublin Airport will take just over 2 hours.
