Macnas Halloween Parade

The iconic Macnas Halloween Parade is returning to Galway City. Known for its majestic displays and engaging storytelling, this parade is one of Galway’s most beloved Halloween traditions. Here’s what to know ahead of this year’s event.
The Parade’s History
For the last decade, Macnas has brought a unique blend of art, outdoor performance and illumination to the streets of Galway.
Rooted in Celtic folklore, the parade has become a highlight in Galway’s events calendar and is a truly immersive experience for onlookers.

What to expect this year
Set to return the 26th of October, 2025 promises to be one of their most exciting parades yet.
This year’s theme is ‘An Treun- The Summoning Of the Lost’, and is inspired by a forgotten tale of Bram Stoker and the haunting call of the vanished Corncrake.
Please note the parade normally starts around 5:30 pm from Fisheries Field beside the Cathedral so it’s worthwhile arriving early to get a good viewing spot.
